Sometimes going after what you want is the hardest thing you will ever do... Meet Helen. Smart, successful and obliviously trapped. For the past six years, Helen has given her life and her heart to her cushy corporate finance job and to Mark without question. However as the Recession sweeps the Nation, she is one of many left unemployed and with the burning question of what does she really want in life. RECESSION PROOF is a debut novel for anyone that has settled in their career and relationship but has discovered that what really matters in life is living it... "I read the entire book in two sittings. Wonderful read!" - Shirley from Audrey Magazine "I am thoroughly blown away! You write with some spunk and I felt myself nodding along and chuckling while reading it thinking ‘this is so relevant’. You just ‘get’ the feel of the book and where it’s coming from. I probably mean I’m hooked!" -Annie from WEMAKEPLANS

First off, I want to say how funny this book was.  At first I didn't think it was going to be a funny book by reading the back cover, I mainly thought it would be a great romance, struggle of making it story, but no it was really funny and that was what I needed.  I needed to read a great funny book and this book was perfect.

The main character in the beginning seems to have it all, the best high paying job, the great boyfriend but looks aren't always as they seem from on the outside.  Helen isn't happy at all.  You know what they say money doesn't always make you happy, well in Helen's life that is so true.  She ends up changing her life all around and fights for what she really wants after she seriously hits rock bottom.  I love how she fights and wins her battle in this story.  No its not one of those stories where she loses and then fights and wins right away no she really has to work hard to get what she really wants and I love that about it.

I loved Helen's friend Sophie in this book as well, she is one very strong female character.  I love how she ends up telling Helen how it is! She seriously puts Helen in her place and I was screaming hell yeah finally!

There is so many things I loved about this story, oh and I must say I loved the job she ends up getting even though she isn't paid for doing it in the beginning.  I would love to be able to do that! Alright, I don't want to give way to much away about this book so lets get down to business and I will let you know what rating I give this miraculous book!

My overall rating would have to be:

Here is why I give it a 4 and not a 5!!! Because I really did love this book...but there were a few typos in it.

Plot: 18/20
Characters: 20/20
Creativity: 18/20
Writing: 15/20 (typos)
Ending:8/10
Cover: 10/10

89 out of 100 = a 4 puppy rating.

This is a great read for anyone that is a bit down and needs a great pick me up! I will defiantly say this is a great read for me of 2011!!!

Next is a great guest post from the amazing Author herself, so check out the next post as well!!!
