Bout of Books 25

Today is the first day of Bout of Books round 25! I can't believe it's already round 25 for this read-a-thon. This is one of my favorite read-a-thons. To learn more about it CLICK HERE! If you sign up please let me know in the comments below.

I'm not really going to post a TBR for this one, I do have several books that I want to read in the next week or so though so I'll post those below. Can't say these are the ones I'll be reading for sure though, but we shall see.

Teaser Tuesday #169

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.

From the front-tourret window of Mada Vittora's Paris townhouse, Anouk couldn't see the fountain at the far end of Rue de Amants. She could see, however, the hopeful souls who made their way down the sidewalk, tourists and Parisians alike, some with their noses in guidebooks and others who knew the route by heart, in search of the granted wishes that according to an obcure fifteenth-century lengend (and more recently made famous in a movie from the summer before), they'd recieve in exchange for touching a lucky part of the fountain.

I picked this one up from the library and can't wait to start it. It's one that I've been wanting to read for awhile. If you've read this one, what were your thoughts? No spoilers please!

Cover Reveal: Making Up by Helena Hunting

Today I have a cover reveal for a new book that's releasing soon, it's by one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to share it. I will say one thing before I do, somehow this cover was already released early. I don't usually post a cover that's already been released, but for this one, I'm making an exception. I want to show my support for this author. I adore her books and can't wait to read this one!

Making Up by Helena Hunting
Expected Release Date:  July 16th, 2019
Published by: St. Martin's Press

A new standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting.

Cosy Felton is great at her job—she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list.

Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him.

As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of PUCKED, Helena Hunting lives on the outskirts of Toronto with her incredibly tolerant family and two moderately intolerant cats. She writes contemporary romance ranging from new adult angst to romantic sports comedy.

After his car crashed through the guardrail and over the cliff, careening into rocks and plowing into a tree before coming to a still, smashed stop. After the previously mentioned asshole drove away in a panic, maybe crying and shaking, too spineless to own up to their crime, leaving her father to die in the remains of his ruined fifteen-year-old Toyota.

Have you read Sawkill Girls? I've seen this book everywhere. As soon as I saw it at the library I picked it up right away and brought it home with me. I can't wait to see what all the hype is about this one.

The first time we went to Lovelorn, it was raining. This was late June, a few weeks after the end of sixth grade, and I shouldn't have been home. I was supposed to be at ballet camp in Saratoga Springs, New York, bunking up with other dance nerds and spending my mornings perfecting my pas de bourree and trying not to be hungry and generally getting as far as possible from my parents, who had been in a four-month competition to see who could be angrier.

This isn't the type of book I read normally, but it's by an author that I love! I can't wait to read this one. I picked this one up from our library. The library here at my new city is fantastic. They have a whole room for YA! Like it's huge.

Anyway, have you read this one. Chat with me, but please no spoilers!
