Audiobook Challenge 2019 Signup

2019 Audiobook Challenge

I'm excited to add the Audiobook Challenge for 2019 to my Challenge list. If you didn't know this fantastic challenge is hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Hot Listens. Pretty much this challenge is exactly what it sounds like, all you have to do is listen to audiobooks. Now my main goal for this challenge is below and if you're participating in this one, let me know in the comments. Maybe we can buddy listen to a book or two.

If you would like more information on this fantastic challenge, you can CLICK HERE.

Alright now for my goals for this challenge. I'm shooting for the Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15 audiobooks. I'm pretty sure I can achieve this goal pretty easily. I did listen to over 10 of them in 2018, so cross your fingers for me I'm going to try to do the same in 2019!

I won't be posting a TBR post for this challenge, due to me being such a mood reader, but I'm going to list the ones I listen to on my main Challenge page for 2019 as soon as I have it finished. (I'll link the page as soon as it's finished! I have a few more challenges to add to it!)

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and as always...

Down the TBR

I brought these back this past month and I'm excited to continue these posts. Down the TBR Hole always helped me clear out some of the books that I no longer want to read. Anyway, this meme was created by Lost in a Story, sadly right now she's on a hiatus and isn't really posting. But I found the post again over at Cornerfolds blog and I knew I needed to get back to this meme!

Currently my Want to Read shelf on Goodreads is way over 2000 books, so I really need to work on getting that number down.  I'm also going to up the number that I'm going to go through each post, this way I can get through more books each time. Anyway, here are the rules of Down the TBR Hole!

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

I added this to the list because I purchased the first book in the series, I ended up not reading the first book and actually unhauled it sometime ago. So this one is a great start to this post. Verdict: PASS

I actually got this one off of Amazon for free and never looked at it again. I hate when that happens, but even reading the summary, it doesn't sound that interesting to me anymore. Verdict: PASS

Another one I got for free on Amazon! Verdict: PASS

This one has been on my Want to read list for a long time! If it doesn't get read by the end of 2019, I'm going to take it off my list. Verdict: KEEP

This is yet another one that's been on my list since 2011, yep it's been that long. I belive someone I know told me to read this one but honestly it doesn't sound like something I would like anymore. Verdict: PASS

Another one that's been on my list since 2011! It's time to either read this one or take it off my list. I'm going to give myself till the end of the 2019!  Verdict: KEEP

Yep you guessed it, another book that was added to my list in 2011! This one I think is going to go this year. I need to shorten my list and it doesn't sound as good as it used to sound. Honestly I've read so many books that sound like this one.  Verdict: PASS

I'm not sure about this one, it honestly doesn't give a good enough description. I think it's time for it to go though. Verdict: PASS

Another one I'm not so sure about, I've had this one one my shelf for awhile. Think I might keep this one till the end of 2019 and see if I read it. If not it will be heading to the unhaul pile. Verdict: KEEP

I feel pretty good about this one! How do you all think I did? Did I give up too easily on any of these?

Total number of books deleted:6
Total number of books kept: 3

Let me know your thoughts on these books? Should I have kept any that I passed on?

Book Blogger Hop #60

Book Blogger Hop is another post I'm going to be trying out and this one has a topic each week, which is something I've been trying to bring to the blog.  I'm really excited about this one because I have a hard time coming up with something fresh to talk about and I'm hoping this helps.

If you would be interested in doing your own post, please CLICK HERE to learn more about this great hop!

14th - 20th - Do you listen to music while you are writing your blog posts? If so, what genre of music do you listen to? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Sometimes I do like to listen to music, but most of the time my TV is on a show that I've seen before or a cooking show. If I'm listening to music though it's usually country music. Though my music tastes are very eclectic, so sometimes it's something totally different!

Teaser Tuesday #157

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.

Now Sumac Lottery (age nine) is the fifth of seven kids, all named after trees. With their four parents, one grand-father, and five pets, they fit perfectly in the Toronto home they call Camelottery. But the one thing in life that never changes...is that sooner or later things change.

I love how wintery this cover looks and the book sounds rather different from what I normally read. Can't wait to dive into this one.

Beat the Backlist 2019 Challenge

I'm going to give this challenge a shot!  This challenge is hosted over at Novelknight. If you want to know more about this challenge you can click the link above.

Reading my backlist is something I've been struggling with in the past couple of years so let's do this. My backlist is huge and you all know I don't do well with challenges where I post my TBR so I'm not going to really do that here. I am however going to give a number goal for this challenge and then once I've got my challenge page up for the year I'll add the names of each book that I read there. There are some other great mini challenges with this one and I can't wait for those. There is a place where you can declare your Hogwarts house and as you read collect points for your house throughout the year, you all know I'm going to be doing that! Anyway, below are my goals for this one and of courses me declaring my Hogwarts house.

Here's my only problem with that, I have to pick the one I want to use, I'm a mixture of both Griffindor and Ravenclaw, but for this challenge I think I'm going to go with Griffindor.

There is also a photo challenge that's part of this one and I'm hoping to participate in that as well, we shall see! Anyway, here is my main goal for the Beat the Backlist 2019 Challenge.

For this challenge I think I'm going to put my goal at 20 books! I want to get to at least 20 of my backlist this year. I think that's doable, what do you think?
