Book Blogger Hop #54

Book Blogger Hop is another post I'm going to be trying out and this one has a topic each week, which is something I've been trying to bring to the blog.  I'm really excited about this one because I have a hard time coming up with something fresh to talk about and I'm hoping this helps.

If you would be interested in doing your own post, please CLICK HERE to learn more about this great hop!

19th - 25th - If you were to dress up as a literary figure {author or character} for Halloween, who would it be? (submitted by Michelle @ Life Among the Pages)

I've dressed up as a few characters from books already, I've been Dorthy from wizard of OZ and a few other characters as well. There are a few more that I wouldn't mind dressing up as though, let's see I would love to dress up as any of my favorite steampunk characters, I would love to dress as Meryn Evans from My Commander by Alanea Alder. I love this whole series so any of the characters from the series I would love to dress up as.

So which literary character or author would you like to be for Halloween?

Renegade Blog Tour, Guest Post, and Giveaway

Today I have a real treat for you all. Author Mallory McCartney is here with us today to share a little spotlight into what her normal day is like as an author. Along with this great guest post from this tramendous author we have a giveaway for her newest release Renegade!

 Day in the Life

Thanks for having me! So, a day in the life right now looks like this. My day job is a building manager with my husband. I love it, and it’s like running a hotel a little bit. We make sure everything is clean and working well for our tenants, make sure the grounds are kept up etc. At night I take a little bit each day that is writing time, whether that’s working away on the third book in the Black Dawn Series right now, or a new project, I make sure to set the time aside. My husband and I have three dachshunds, and we are lucky to live by the water, so we walk them either on boardwalk down by the river or hike them on the trails around our town. Then we usually continue bingeing whatever we are watching on Netflix, last night we just finished the Haunting of Hill House and it was AMAZING! That usually wraps it up, on my weekends off is when I book tours for a month or two either in the summer or fall, depending when my releases are coming out. But during the year I always book time when I’m not writing, usually around Christmas for a couple of months, and just take a break and enjoy time with my family and friends.

“The time for Kiero’s reign in prosperity is over.”

Six years before the Black Dawn Rebellion, Adair Stratton and Emory Fae are following in their parent’s footsteps and living at The Academy, a home for those who are gifted. The pressure to uphold the future of their parent’s dream falls on them. An outcast and feared by most, Adair longs to break away from the expectations dictating his future. Even if Emory tries to make him see differently. An unexpected group of friends keep him there, but as whispers of unexplained disappearances start reaching from the capital, Adair starts to doubt The Academy is all it seems.

An unexpected visit ignites new tensions as the roguish king from across the Black Sea, Tadeas Maher of the Shattered Isles, and his heir, Marquis Maher sail to Kiero. Notorious for their pirating and wrath- for the first time in years, they demand the Fae’s listen to their proposition for a new treaty, holding the news of Nei’s father’s abrupt death over them. Caught in the middle of politics- Adair and Emory, with the help of their best friends Brokk and Memphis search for the one thing that matters most- finding out the truth.

In this gripping prequel to Black Dawn, their world is tipped upside down as unlikely alliances are made. War ravages through Kiero and is torn apart by acclaimed Kings. Through the throes of betrayal, lies, hidden magic and love, Adair is faced with a life changing decision- to fight or to bow to the darkness within him.
