Book Blogger #75

Book Blogger Hop is another post I'm going to be trying out and this one has a topic each week, which is something I've been trying to bring to the blog.  I'm really excited about this one because I have a hard time coming up with something fresh to talk about and I'm hoping this helps.
If you would be interested in doing your own post, please CLICK HERE to learn more about this great hop!

8th - 14th - Can you stop reading before the end of a chapter? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

I have to know how the chapter ends before I stop! So yeah my answer is I can't stop reading before a chapter ends. Plus, I like to know that I ended with the end of that chapter and the next time I pick up the book I don't have to re-read anything to know what had just happened.

What about you, can you stop before a chapter ends or are you like me and have to end when a chapter is finished? I would love to know your thoughts on this, leave a comment below.

November TBR Plan

So I was going to use the TBR Monopoly board again this month, but I decided to change it back to the original kind of TBR for this month.   My plan is to start the TBR Monopoly in 2020! Starting in January and going through the whole year that way.  I'm in a bit of a reading slump and figured reading what I want to read is a perfect way to get out of that. Below are the books that I've chosen to read in November. Again this is the plan, it could always change!

I'm trying to take away the pressure that a TBR used to put on me, honestly I think it was more of blogger pressure than reading pressure, but we shall see. Anyway, the idea behind this came from Girl in the Pages. Her TBR's are called a plan and I thought that was very fitting for me. It's just a plan, not a have to!  If you haven't checked her blog out, please go do so now, she's one of my favorite bloggers/blogs. I read this one pretty much every time she posts.  I've also been loving Bookmark Lit lately and I love how she picks her TBR books. So, I thought I would give it a shot as well. If you haven't checked her blog out, it's a must. You should head there and read her blog as well!

Demon Glass by Rachel Hawkins
Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
Shadowscent by P.M. Freestone
The Curious Heart of Ailsa Rae by Stephanie Butland
Twice in a Blue Moon By Christina Lauren

I've been wanting to read a few of these for a while now, Demon Glass and Spell Bound are the two that I'm finally finishing. I don't know why I waited so long to read this series, I'm loving it! I meant to read Shadowscent and Twice in a Blue Moon last month but it was too crazy in my everyday life that I didn't get much reading done, sadly.  Anyway, let's hope November is a better reading month for me.

Teaser Tuesday #178

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  •  Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.

There are times when magic really sucks. Sure, it's awesome when you're using it to change your hair color, or fly, or turn day into night. But for the most part, magic tends to end in explosions, or tears, or with you flat on your back in the middle of nowhere, feeling like a tiny dwarf is mining for diamonds inside your head.

I am loving this series so much, I honestly should have read it a long time ago and I'm not sure why I didn't. Glad to be reading it now though, so much love for these books!

At a normal high school, having class outside on a gorgeous May day is usually pretty awesome. It means sitting in the sunshine, maybe reading some poetry, letting the breeze blow through your hair...  At Hecate Hall, a.k.a. Juvie for Monsters, it meant I was getting thrown in the pond.

So I finished Hex Hall last week, review coming soon, and well it left on such a cliff hanger that I had to start Demon Glass right away. So, what do you think about the teaser this week? I think it's a great way to kick off this book and that's exactly what it did.

I'm starting to worry that Smarty-Pants Camp is going to ruin my best friend, Harold. Okay, okay. I shouldn't call it "Smarty-Pants Camp." It's a National Scholar of Promise summer program at Stanford that's super hard to get into--the most recent under-eighteen world-chess champion got wait-listed. Harold got in on the first try.

This one has been on my TBR since earlier this year, it sounds really good. Think it's time to give it a try. What do you all think?
