Review: Mira's Diary by Marissa Moss

Mira is shocked when she receives a postcard from her missing mother from Paris. Her father decides it's time for a trip to France to search for her. While visiting Notre Dame, Mira touches a gargoyle and is whirled into the past. There she meets the famous painter Degas and catches a brief, shocking glimpse of her mother. Mira begins to suspect that her mom didn't run out on them but is a prisoner of the past. Can one family on an incredible worldwide adventure stop a plot in time

So we are very excited today for this review.  We were given this book by Sourcebooks to review so Samantha and I sat down and started reading it as soon as we got it.  We were very engrossed in this book till we made it to the last page.

So let's get to our opinions shall we? Below you will find Ali's Review and Samantha's review.

Ali's Review

So, I was really excited to read this book with my daughter and it didn't disappoint.  It was a great time reading this great chapter book with her.  It introduced her to chapter stories and it was an exciting time.  I watched her face as we read it together and she seemed to really love the story and the pictures on the pages made her face light up.

I really enjoyed the plot, it was very different and surprising. Where I thought it was going, well let's just say it went in the total opposite way, but not in a bad way. The author did a great job making this story perfect for the age group it was intended for and even I enjoyed reading it.

The characters in this story were great and I loved watching them grow throughout the story. I will say that some things I had to explain to Samantha, but that's normal for a first chapter story reading.

I would gladly read this book all over again with her.
