Life Update!

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm going to be going on vacation with my kiddos this week and wont be able to posts any posts.  Sometimes we just need to take a small break to recharge our batteries so to speak and Spring Break with my kids sounds like the perfect break to me.  I will have pictures and possibly video for you all to see when I get back!

PS: I will be reading during the vacation so there will be some reviews posted as well when I get back.  I'm bringing three books with me and will be reading on the beach! ;) 

Book Club Pick for August 2013

Alright, just a little update.  My preivous atempts for a book club didn't really go as well as I hoped, so I had another idea.   I'm going to be doing the Book Club a bit different this time.  I am starting a group over on Goodreads.  That is where we will discuss the books, talk about YA books and maybe even play some games.  I have big plans for it.

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to get on here and say Happy Memorial Day to you all! I hope you all have a great weekend and stay safe.  Now on to some blogging business.  I will not be posting this weekend or Monday.  I am taking a 3 day break.  First off its Memorial day weekend and I have big plans and wont be near my computer! Secondly I am going to be out of town on Monday, my nephew is being born and I am going to go see him! YAY!

So make sure you come back around on Tuesday and there will be new posts up I promise!!

In Light....

In light of recent events, I have decided that here at Ali's Bookshelf, I will no longer be posting the feature In My Mailbox and will no longer be doing the Debut Author challenge both hosted by The Story Siren.  I'm not going to do a whole bashing post, because I believe there has been enough of that around, but the way I feel is that what she did was wrong! Plain and simple.  So that's why I'm going to be figuring out a different way to show you the books I get every week, maybe do a monthly book haul or something.  I'll figure it out no worries!

I just wanted to make sure you knew why this feature wasn't being posted anymore.  I hope you all understand my decision on this one!!

I'm super excited, this week I am attending the Book Bloggers and Publishers Online Conference.  This will be my first year joining this Conference and like I said I'm super stoked for all the information about working with authors and publishers!!   If you would like to take part in this conference there is still time. Ali's Book Club

I am so excited about this, I am starting a book club!!! YAY!!! We are going to be meeting once a week and discuss a few chapters of a book.  I am working on a list of books that I would like to read together and then we all can decide what to read.

I hope you all will join in and read with us! There will be another post soon on here about the book club.  I was just so excited about it that I had to post about it!

Book Vs. Movie... A New Feature here on the blog!

The above picture is why I wanted to do this feature, you can never judge a book by its movie.  I want to start doing reviews that are for books that are turned into Movies and I will review both of them.  It think it will be a new and fun feature here on Ali's Bookshelf.  I'm working on a few reviews already so make sure you watch out for those to come!!!
