Teaser Tuesday #171

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.

"We have a long ride before us." Gared pointed out. "Eight days, maybe nine. And night is falling." Ser Waymar Royce glanced at the sky with disinterest. "It does that every day at this time. Are you unmanned by the dark, Gared?"

I don't know why but these lines made me laugh. It might be that I was reading at 1 in the morning, but I still think it's funny. Anyway, I joined a book club on Facebook and I'm super excited that we are reading Game of Thrones. I've been putting this book off for sometime, it's just been sitting on my shelf. So glad I'm finally reading it!

I hope you all have a great Tuesday and if you have a teaser to share with me, I would love to read it. Either link it or post it below in the comments!

Book Blogger Hop #70

Book Blogger Hop is another post I'm going to be trying out and this one has a topic each week, which is something I've been trying to bring to the blog.  I'm really excited about this one because I have a hard time coming up with something fresh to talk about and I'm hoping this helps.
If you would be interested in doing your own post, please CLICK HERE to learn more about this great hop!

24th - 30th - Do you continue with a book even though you aren't liking it? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

Okay, my views on this has changed throughout the years. When I first started blogging I made myself read through every book that I wanted to review. I never DNF'd anything, I wish I hadn't done this, I ended up in the biggest reading slump of my life, I wasn't reading for fun anymore and that was a problem for me.

Now, I read for fun, I read what I want and enjoy reading. So, if I'm reading a book and within 50 to 75 pages and I'm just not into it, I won't force myself to read it. I might put it down and try again later though. Sometimes as a reader I'm just not in the mood for a certain genre. Sometimes it works and I go back to a book and end up loving it, most of the time though it doesn't.

What are your thoughts on this one? Do you force yourself to continue reading even if you aren't enjoying a book? If so why?

I'm excited to showcase a book for you all, You Me & Letting go by author Katie Kaleski. Below you will find all the information about the book and the author as well as links for you to purchase your own copy of this book. Don't forget to stick around till the end of this post for a great giveway as well.

You, Me, & Letting Go! By Katie Kaleski

Publication Date: May 14, 2019
Publisher: Swoon Romance

A love so epic, no label is needed.

Van Sato’s got labels. Tourettes, ADHD, SPD - words that have defined his existence since the time he was old enough to know what they meant. Now, Van wants to prove he’s more than an acronym, a syndrome, a problem kid. He takes a summer job as a day camp counselor to prove he’s capable of independence and moving on to the next phase in his life. Maybe, he might even make a friend while there. Someone who’s got just as many or even more labels than him. Someone who understands what it’s like.

Tabby Dubanowksi wants to forget about everything, the hospitalization, the judgment, the whispers behind her back. As a camp counselor, she will be admired, looked up to, and able to help people who don’t know anything about her old life. Tabby wants a fresh start and a chance to re-ignite her passion for film-making, if only for one summer.

After running away from their pasts, Van and Tabby collide in a storm cloud of attraction laced with self-doubt, insecurity, shame, and blame. Now, with Van feeling like he might have to quit his job, and Tabby struggling to quell the urge to cut, they will struggle to find themselves in a world designed to keep them apart.
