Book Blogger Hop #87

Book Blogger Hop is another post I'm going to be trying out and this one has a topic each week, which is something I've been trying to bring to the blog.  I'm really excited about this one because I have a hard time coming up with something fresh to talk about and I'm hoping this helps.

31st - February 6th - What is your opinion of bibliotherapy? Do you think this is a useful way of dealing with psychological issues? If you've used it yourself, or know someone who has, what book(s) would you recommend? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)

I've never known anyone that's used this therapy treatment, but I honestly think it would help. I think it's a great way to help people. I mean come on, what does reading do for all of us. If reading can help someone I say that's awesome!!

What are your thoughts on this one? Do you think it would help someone? I honestly think it would.

24th - 30th - Do you talk to strangers about books especially when you see someone reading a book? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)
I actually do this all the time, especially in bookstores, which makes it a bit easier. Though I do this in the library all the time too. I love talking to people, though I am a bit cautious about it. Nowadays you have to be.

So, do you ever find yourself talking to a stranger about books? Let me know in the comments below.

17th - 23rd - Do you think that readers make better employees, as opposed to non-readers? Why or why not? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)

I'm not really sure how to answer this one. On one hand, I'm a reader and I know I'm a great employee, but that doesn't mean someone who isn't won't be.  I don't really think being a reader or not has anything to do with it.

What are your thoughts on this one? I'm really not sure it makes a difference if someone is a reader or not. I would love to hear your thoughts though. Leave me a comment below.

10th - 16th - Do you have a reading challenge for 2020? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

My main challenge will be my Goodreads goal for the year. I have been setting it at 50 for the past couple of years and I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to stick with. It's easy to reach and I normally go over, so that always makes me feel good. I'm not sure the others I want to do this year, just yet, but that will be in an upcoming post very soon!

So what about you, do you have any reading challenges you're going to participate in this year? If so, please let me know which ones so I might be able to figure out the ones I want to do lol. I seriously can't make up my mind this year. Honestly, I'm not even sure I want to do anymore other than my Goodreads goal.

3rd - 9th - Do you have any New Year's Blogging Resolutions? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

I don't do resolutions really, I do set a few goals, but that's going to be in a whole other post this year. I'm going to try really hard to actually stick with them this year lol. My main one is to blog more often and of course, read more!  Another goal of mine is one that I've had the past couple of years and that is to stick to reading what I want to read. That way I don't get into another huge reading slump.

How about you, do you make any New Year's resolutions or do you have any goals for this upcoming year? I would love to hear yours, please leave me a comment below.

20th - 26th  - What is your favorite Christmas themed fiction or nonfiction book? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer

Hmm I don't really read nonfiction books that much, but my favorite Christmas book that I read every year to my kids is The Polar Express. I also love The Night Before Christmas.

Do you have a favorite? If so let me know in the comments below. I would love to check out some new Christmas favorites!

13th - 19th - Is there a specific genre you like to read during the Winter? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Let's see, starting on December 1st, I start reading Christmas books. Other than that I don't read just one genre. I like a mixture when it comes to my reading.

What about you, are you a one genre type person when it comes to winter? Or are you like me and enjoy a mixture of genres?

6th - 12th - Do you keep your TBR stack on a separate shelf from your already read books or are they mixed? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

At this moment my main TBR is on my TBR cart, but the rest of my TBR is everywhere. Since my move, I haven't been able to actually organize my books the way I want them. But that's about to change. I'm getting a few new shelves for Christmas and I'm hoping to get all my books just the way I want them! That's the plan!

What about you, do you have all your TBR together or mixed in with your other books? I would love to know. Also, any tips you may have for me on organizing my books would be great!

29th - Dec. 5th - Did you go shopping on Thanksgiving Night, Black Friday, or on Cyber Monday? If so, did you buy any books? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer

I usually go out for Black Friday and that's exactly what I did this year. I enjoy going out and getting those deals. It's the way I was able to get a lot of presents for my kids in the past couple of years at the best prices. That includes books.  I can't say exactly which ones I got just yet, my daughter tends to read my blog. But I did pick up a few and I'll add them in a haul next month after she sees them! LOL

So do you go Back Friday shopping? Let me know in the comments below. I would love to know your thoughts on this tradition.

22nd - 28th - Excluding the Bible, name one book that makes you feel thankful and happy. (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Just reading a book makes me happy so that's pretty hard to narrow down, but I can tell you that Harry Potter is one that I always re-read and every time I do it always makes me happy and thankful. So I guess that's my answer!  I thought this question was going to be hard and I was going to have a hard time coming up with an answer but nope lol. All books make me happy though.

What about you, is there one book that makes you happy and thankful? Let me know in the comments, I would love to see everyone's answer! This might be a great way to add some books to my ever-growing tbr lol.

15th - 21st - Do you think that overall work morale would be improved by having a "book lunch", sponsored by the company, at least once a month, or perhaps once a week? (Participation would be voluntary.) (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)

I think this is an awesome idea! For book lovers, this would so work, for anyone else it won't really help. I think companies would take that into account, but for me, that would be fantastic and would make me feel like the company really appreciates who I am.

So what are your thoughts on this topic? Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think. This question was a different one and I really had to think about it for a few minutes.  Great question!!

8th - 14th - Can you stop reading before the end of a chapter? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

I have to know how the chapter ends before I stop! So yeah my answer is I can't stop reading before a chapter ends. Plus, I like to know that I ended with the end of that chapter and the next time I pick up the book I don't have to re-read anything to know what had just happened.

What about you, can you stop before a chapter ends or are you like me and have to end when a chapter is finished? I would love to know your thoughts on this, leave a comment below.

28th - July 4th - Would you or do you choose a book solely on the cover? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews

Okay, I'll admit I have done this several times. Sometimes there are those covers that just pull you in and honestly I like going into a book not knowing much about it.  The covers they are putting out now are so pretty and the ones that I never thought I would like I now love. Illustrated covers are something I never thought I would like, but I do. So yes, I've read/bought a book solely because of the cover.

So, have you been like me and bought/read a book solely because of the cover? Come on now, I'm sure you have. Let me know in the comments below your favorite book that you have picked just because of the cover, but ended up loving the book just as much.
