Today, I have author Michele Richard with is here on Ali's Bookshelf with a great glimpse into whats to come for Mocked by Faith Series.
Another Mocked by Faith book in the works?
Yes! It's true! Affirming the Faith is now complete and in
the editing process. Some people thought it might end at the end of Mocked by
Faith - Healing the Faith, but that was not the case.
Some fans have asked how do you know how many books will be
in a series and how do you know when to stop. Both good questions.
I never know how many will be in the series until the story
is complete.
When do you split a book?
That one is easier to answer. My editor tells me. It's okay
you can laugh. Doesn't make it any less true.
Mocked by Faith was supposed to be one book. Due to the
climaxes, chapter counts, and length it was cut — twice.
Yes, I never saw that one coming. I just poured my heart into
it and when it was done, I couldn't be prouder of it. The series has been one
of my favorites to create.
What not many people know even though it was the second
title in the Mocked by series it was actually the first one written. Mocked by
Destiny, which was the second story entered in a publishing contest was really
the second story I wrote, but the first to make it to print.
Amazing how that happens.
So what happens when Mocked by Faith ends?
There are three more Mocked titles in the works. Plus I have
my science fiction series to finish. There are three more in that series as
well. So I'll be very busy completing them all.
So what's next for me?
My short story, which is part of the Renaissance Romance
Publishing anthologies is due out in December. It's a Christmas story of a
college student who finds herself pregnant. Now if she knew who the baby daddy
was, life would get easier.
Why write novellas at all?
Yes, I've received that question. Simply put — some stories
are not meant to be full novels. Sometimes everything you want to say can
happen in ten chapters instead of thirty. So that's how they're told.
It's not always an easy feat. Sometimes what starts as a
novella spills over to a full length novel. And that's fine, it happens.

Just saying “I do” was only the beginning for Alexia and Justin McNear. Now when their lives, loves, and faith are left in turmoil, they will have to fight even harder to heal themselves and their faith. Can two people already struggling help heal the communities they call home? How do you rebuild after the loss of a child? After suffering a tragedy, are these two lost to each other forever? With all the church’s money missing, the hunt for the tyrant ex-minister Mark will take Justin and his twin cousins away from their secluded, gated community and into the real world while leaving their wives behind to pick up the pieces. Can Justin survive it again? Or will returning to the retreat that once abused him be his end? Alexia, Madison, and Ginger will need to be strong and independent with their men gone. Left to raise their child alone, Alexia will make decisions that will affect their marriage and lives. Will they be the right ones? Raised in a community where the men run everything, these three families will have to fight to survive the coming changes. The temptations run high in this sequel to Mocked by Faith, but hope is not lost, and they will learn how to heal their faith.
