The sexiest romance you’ll read this year… One moment can change your life forever... For Violet Lee, a chance encounter on a darkened street draws her into a world beyond her wildest imaginings, a timeless place of vast elegance and immeasurable wealth – of beautiful mansions and lavish parties – where a decadent group of friends live for pleasure alone. A place from which there is no escape...no matter how hard Violet tries. Yet all the riches in the world can’t mask the darkness that lies beneath the gilded surface, embodied in the charismatic but dangerous Kaspar Varn. Violet and Kaspar surrender to a passion that transcends their separate worlds – but it’s a passion that comes at a price...
The summary of this book says "The Most Sexiest romance you'll read this year..." Well I'm not so sure about that, because I read some amazingly sexy books, but I will agree this is a great romance book filled with Vampires.
When I first pulled this off my shelf to read, I was in need of some vampire love and this was the perfect fit. The plot of this story is outstanding and very different, but its still a love story and a love triangle at that. I read this story in one sitting, all 532 pages, mainly because I wanted to see what would happen next.
When Violet is left on the street one night by her friends, she finds herself inside a whole other world that she had no idea existed. A world full of murderous vampires. But are they as they seem? See ends up seeing something she shouldn't and is taken captive and brought back to the vampires rather large house. Come to find out its mainly because of who her father is. The book does go up in down in emotions for Violet, but I think that is what makes it seem so real. She has to chose what she really wants in life, will she chose love or family?
I love the twists and turns in this story and of course a hot Vampire doesn't hurt. If you are needing a vampire fix, then this book is perfect for you.
Another thing I love about this book is that Violet doesn't fall for Kaspar immediately, it takes her time and he can be a total jerk to her, so I really love that it wasn't love at first sight for her. That would have turned me off right away. I can't wait till the next book in this series comes out and that is supposed to be in August of this year. I know I will be reading it and will let you know my exact thoughts.
"Kaspar, I want you. Right here. Right now. And I won't ask nicely more than once." He didn't reply, but his lips crushed against mine, ferocious, anxious, with urgency incomparable. I was thrust back into the counter, the small of my back pressed painfully against the edge, hands instinctively breaking my stumble with an ominous click. He moved with unrelenting force, pushing me harder against the marble, yet I returned every movement he made, drawing his lips to mine until I let out a soft hiss against his flesh. "You're crushing me," I winced, trying to free my arm as his body pressed to mine.
I would have to give Dinner with a Vampire by Abigail Gibbs a Ali's Bookshelf:
