I reached out and tugged her braid, then tapped her lightly on the head. It was the first time I'd touched her, and it felt like the opposite of burning and drowning. It felt like flying through a cool, bright, wide-open sky.
So what did you think of that little teaser? This book has been staring at me as it has sat on my shelf for a few months now. I finally picked it up and haven't been able to put it down.
