This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. It's a meme where you share what you read last week, what you're currently reading and what you plan on reading that week.
Alright, I won't be doing these posts every week, like I have in the past, I'm trying to mix things up a bit. This week, though, since it's the first week back to blogging, I'm going to post this one.
Today I'm Reading:
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I've heard so many wonderful things about this series and figured this would be a great second book of this year. I'm loving it so far!
"Nothing is a coincidence. Everything has a purpose. You were meant to come to this castle, just as you were meant to be an assassin."
When magic has gone from the world, and a vicious king rules from his throne of glass, an assassin comes to the castle. She does not come to kill, but to win her freedom. If she can defeat twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition to find the greatest assassin in the land, she will become the King's Champion and be released from prison.
Her name is Celaena Sardothien.
The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her.
And a princess from a foreign land will become the one thing Celaena never thought she'd have again: a friend.
But something evil dwells in the castle—and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying, horribly, one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival—and a desperate quest to root out the source of the evil before it destroys her world.
This Week I Plan To Read:
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
I've read this before, so this is a re-read, but I started it and would like to finish it this week.
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, didn't expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
As Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she's never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.
Up Next:
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
If Not For You by Debbie Macomber
Both of these books are fairly large, so I'm only going to leave this post at two books for this week. I'm also really excited about the two books that are up next. I received each of those through Netgalley.
I hope you all have a great day and as always....
