for more information. Mainly in January I set a goal of walking 6000 steps a day. I hit that goal a lot, so I'm thinking I might move it up to 7000 steps a day this month. Also I want to be active at least 60 minutes a day as well. Last month I added that as an or, this month I'm going for it!
Every week I'll be posting how I'm doing and I'm crossing my fingers
that I can actually do this, so far it's been great! I'm seeing inches come off my waist and my jeans are getting loose! There is a weekly check in
on the blog that is linked above and a great Facebook group to find
encouragement if you need it.
I also think this month, I'm going to shoot for the virtual 5K. I almost walked/ran one today in fact. Came pretty close at 4.51 Miles.
So this is the fifth week that I've been participating and as you read above it's going great! Even my kids are getting into it and walking/running with me. My daughter starts a program called Girls on The Run this upcoming week and she has promised to work out with me every day so she can build up her stamina. Which I think is a fantastic thing. At the end of the year she will be running a 5K and I'm super excited to be walking/running it with her.
Saturday: 6000 Steps, 3.01 Miles and 274 Calories (I felt really good this day.)
Sunday: 6210 Steps, went shopping this day with my mom! It's easy to hit step goals while shopping.
Monday: 6015 Steps! Had another great day, walked on my lunch break at work.
Tuesday: 5982 Steps, was a bit under the weather this day. Stupid sinus headache, but came close.
Wednesday: (I didn't get no where near my goal this day, just over 2000 steps. Sinus headache kicked my butt instead.)
Thursday: 6254 Steps (Great day once again, headache finally gone!)
Friday: 6000 Steps exactly! Walked during lunch at work and during lunch.
Saturday: 8994 Steps. I walked/ran with my kids today up and down our long driveway! I walked over 4.51 Miles! Super excited about doing this with my kids. It was a bit cold, but we still did it! Was trying to see if I could pull off the 8000 steps and as you can see I did it!
It was another great week keeping track of my steps. Now all I need is to buy me a fit bit and it would be a lot easier. I'm working on it. Have to get through my wedding first then I'll be getting me one. For now I'm tracking everything with the app on my phone.
