From the critically acclaimed author of "Alice in Verse: The Lost Rhymes of Wonderland" comes a chilling collection of rhyming poetry perfect for Halloween...or any other dark and spooky night. From the creepy jingles of Shadows in Nursery and the eerie angst of The Darkening 'Tweens to the malevolently poetic odes of Medieval Maladies and the sweeping chillers of The Epic Tales, J.T. Holden’s "Twilight Tales" offers a deliciously wicked mix of frightening fare!

Alright, so I ususally don't read/review poetry, but this one sounded really good to me so I thought what the hell lets try it.  So, I said okay to the review request and when I got the book I was actually really excited about it.

I opened up the book up and started reading the chilling poetry right away and couldn't stop reading.  I had it all read in one sitting and loved it all! If you like dark chilling little stories you will love these poems.  J.T. Holden is a wonderful poet and now my favorite one!

I will say my favorite poem in the book would have to be The Window in The Floor and my favorte part would have to be these lines:

Don't take the time to think about it:
Hurry off to sleep.
Don't peak out from the covers now:
Your soul is yours to keep--
(pg 4)

I loved these small poems and the way they are displayed in this amazing little book! The illustrations are amazing and some of the poetry in the book is even sideways on the pages keeping things very interesting! I loved reading every line of every poem.

If you get a chance to read this great book, take the chance!  Then make sure you come back and let me know what you thought!!!

So now for my overall rating, I give Twilight Tales a:

Plot: 20/20
Characters: 20/20
Creativity: 20/20
Writing: 20/20
Illustrations:10/10
Cover: 10/10

100 out of 100 = 5 puppy rating!

A great read for anyone that likes a little dark and easy read.
