Alright, so I got another book to show you today. One that my mom got me and I'm so excited. ( Got to love it when your mom loves books like you do and gets books for you.)
This great book came in the mail last week and I can't wait to show you all so lets get to it!
Title: Partials
Author: Dan Wells
Publisher: Balzer + Bray ( Imprint of Harper Collins Publishers)
Humanity is all but extinguished after a war with partials--engineered organic beings identical to humans--has decimated the world’s population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island. The threat of the partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to the disease in over a decade. Humanity’s time is running out.
When sixteen-year-old Kira learns of her best friend’s pregnancy, she’s determined to find a solution. Then one rash decision forces Kira to flee her community with the unlikeliest of allies. As she tries desperately to save what is left of her race, she discovers that the survival of both humans and partials rests in her attempts to answer questions of the war’s origin that she never knew to ask.
Combining the fast-paced action of The Hunger Games with the provocative themes of Battlestar Galactica, Partials is a pulse-pounding journey into a world where the very concept of what it means to be human is in question--one where our sense of humanity is both our greatest liability, and our only hope for survival. WHERE I HEARD ABOUT THIS ONE...
Well, I heard about Partials from so many of my blogger friends that I just had to try it. I have heard that its the best Dystopian, better than Hunger Games, etc. Not sure if its all true, but I'm always willing to give a book a chance. Plus the words on the back of the book cover are, well stunning, making me want to read this one even more.
WHY I'M ADDING IT...
Well the main reason I'm adding this one to my bookshelf is mainly the synopsis is amazing and the cover, oh my, is so beautiful. I'm so excited to read this one and soon.
WHEN WILL I BE READING THIS BOOK?
I'm thinking of starting this one the first week of April. I think April will be my Dystopian Month and I'm going to read a few in the month of April to share with you. I'm already reading Catching Fire and with The Hunger Games movie coming out at the end of this month, I think its perfect.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Should I stay on the track I am on now or should I push this book up a few weeks? What do you all think I should do?
