I haven't done an update of the challenges I picked to do this year in a while. So I think since the year is almost over it's time to do that, mainly so I can see where I stand. Also to see how many books I really need to read by the end of the year. I'm hoping I didn't do as bad as I'm thinking I might have with my challenges. Cross your fingers for me!
So below you will find all the challenges I decided to try to complete this year, yep I said try, because normally I'm not very good at actually completing these type of challenges. Honestly, in the past several years the only challenge I've ever completed was my Goodreads challenge. Which for this year I've already completed. I completed it in August of this year.
2018 Reading Challenge
Ali has completed their goal of reading 60 books in 2018!
At the beginning of the year I had only planned to read 50 books, well I moved my goal up to 60 and by August I had already hit that. As you can see above I'm at 80 and still climbing. I'm hoping to hit at least 90 by the end of the year. Maybe more, I haven't reached 100 books in one year in a long time, but still I'm only shooting for 90!
The next challenge I chose to do this year was the Take Control of your TBR challenge. I try to do this one every year and I've failed so bad that I wasn't sure I wanted to actually participate this year. Finally in the end I decided to. So let's see how I did.
My Goals for this challenge was to read 3 Netgalley ARC's, 2 of my physical books off my TBR shelve and hopefully 1 audiobook.
I completed this goal!
Netgalley
Physical Books off my TBR Shelve
Audiobook
This challenge was one that I was so excited to work on at the beginning of the year. I had wanted to add more discussions to the blog and this was such an easy way of doing so. I am happy to say that I was able to finish this challenge pretty fast in the year and have actually added so many other discussions throughout this year.
My goal for this challenge was to post at least 10 discussions throughout the year and I did so. If you would like to see the links to all my discussions this year you can click here!
The next challenge for some reason the bloggers blog that started this one is no longer there. Sadly, the image for this challenge is gone as well. I still want to post my update for this challenge though. It's the Netgalley challenge. My goal was to read 25 books off my Netgalley list and I'm so excited to say that I finished this challenge too! If you would like to see the full list of all the books I read this year for this challenge, you can CLICK HERE!
Now for this challenge I've completed some things but sadly some I will not be able to complete this year, but I've marked them down as goals for next year.
My goals for this challenge were...
- Get my Netgalley percentage up to 80%
- Read 20 Netgalley books this year
- Read at least 20 books off of my TBR Shelf
- Listen to 1 audio books per month
- Read 20 books that I already own
I sadly can't get my Netgalley percentage up to 80% by the end of the next month, there is no way, but like I said above it's a goal for next year!
As for the rest of the challenge, I have two more audiobooks to listen to and three more books off my TBR Shelf! That's it I've completed everything else! I'm so proud of myself for this one. Wish I could have hit that 80% this year, but hopefully next year.
Now there is one challenge I competly failed at and I know why. I can't post TBR's for any of my challenges and I know that, but I tried. Now I know not to do so in the future!
The 2018 Reading Assignment Challenge was a total bust for me and honestly for the first time I'm not that upset about it. I only messed up one challege this year and that's not too bad for me.
So how are you doing on your challenges for the year? As of right now, I need to listen to two audiobooks and read 3 more books off of my TBR shelf! I'm pretty sure I can handle that between now and the end of December. What do you all think? I hope you have had as great of a reading year as me so far. Let's reach those reading challenge goals!
