An authentic rallying cry for anyone who has been affected by bullying. In February 2013, Shane Koyczan's passionate anti-bullying poem "To This Day" electrified the world. An animated video of the lyric narrative went viral, racking up over 12 million hits to date and inspiring an international movement against bullying in schools. Shane later performed the piece to sustained applause on the stage of the 2013 annual TED Conference. Now this extraordinary work has been adapted into an equally moving and visually arresting book. Thirty international artists, as diverse as they are talented, have been inspired to create exceptional art to accompany "To This Day." Each page is a vibrant collage of images, colors and words that will resonate powerfully with anyone who has experienced bullying themselves, whether as a victim, observer, or participant. Born of Shane's own experiences of being bullied as a child, "To This Day" expresses the profound and lasting effect of bullying on an individual, while affirming the strength and inner resources that allow people to move beyond the experience. A heartfelt preface and afterword, along with resources for kids affected by bullying, make this book an invaluable centerpiece of the anti-bullying movement. I knew that I was going to love this book, mainly because I had already saw this fantastic poem on YouTube and have watched it a few times.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book version and just like the video it has become one of my favorite poems ever. It's so hard hitting and the meaning behind each words is so powerful you can't help but be touched by at least part of it.  I know I was by the whole entire thing.

The graphics in this graphic novel are...wow not even sure there is a word great enough to showcase these graphics.  I loved reading and looking at each page.  I was given this by the publisher through Netgalley and I am so glad that I requested it. As someone that understands how much bullying does hurt this one really hit home for me and as a parent it hit home even more.

I would read/watch anything by this author and can't wait to see what he does next.  To This Day is one that I will recommend over and over to everyone that I see.  It's something that I really think should be in every school library as well.

If you haven't watched the video or read this graphic novel, it's a must!

I knew as soon as I finished this one that it would get this rating.

If I could give it a higher puppy rating I would.  This graphic novel will be one of my favorites forever.
