101 Things in 1001 Days

Fair warning, this post is going to be a little long!

I've only just recently come upon this new site after reading a post over at Bookmark Lit that talked about 101 things in 1001 days.  If you haven't read any of the amazing posts from Bookmark Lit, it's a must. Go check out her blog now! Anyway, I was reading a few of her other posts and came upon this post titled 101 things in 1001 days, as I read that title it sparked my attention and I had to read it. So I clicked the read more button and began to read. I knew right away that I wanted to try it and clicked the links she provided.

One was to another blog and I ended up reading her post as well. She has a post about how to make a 101 things in 1001 list and again I knew I really wanted to give this a shot.  Anyway, I started to make my list and it really isn't as easy as it looks, like it's really hard to come up with 101 goals. I mean some where easy to figure out, because they were some goals that I had already set, but others I really had to think about. I did look at a few other people's lists and used a few of their ideas, I hope that's okay but honestly they had some great ideas. Anyway, I'm getting off track, so I made my list! Now this isn't going to be easy and I know that, but as of right now I have 1000 days to comeplete these goals.

I wanted to share these goals not only on the day zero website which you can see my list HERE, I also wanted to share my list here. Just another way to help me to stay motivated. Some things on my list are going to take me awhile, some are easier and won't take as long. I have 2 3/4 years to complete them all, so like I said some might take a little bit longer than others.

Let's get to my list... (I also wanted to add that the Day Zero website is free to add your list to it and use it to update your progress. If want to add catagories to your list, which I'm going to do later, it does cost to do so.

So here's my list!

Blog/Reading

Re-do my Blog:  This has to do with my design, I want a different design soon. I don't want to rebrand though, I love my brand.

Post every day for a month on the Blog: This one isn't as easy as it seems. I post as much as I can, but I want to do better and try to post every single day for a whole month.

Static Pages for my Reviews: I've been wanting to do this for awhile. I want a separate page for Reveiws by title, author, and rating.

Post 4 Lifestyle posts a Month: This has been a goal for me starting this past month so I figured why not put this one on my list. I mean this post right here counts...right?  These posts can be something like this, homeschool posts or anything lifestyle related.

Get my Netgalley Percent to 80% : Now this has been a goal I've been working on for a few years. In the beginning when I first joined Netgalley there wasn't a percent to reach, so I never kept up. Now it's time to catch up!

Read 300 Books that I own: This shouldn't be too hard, I own way over 300 books. The hard part is going to be reading 100 or more books a year. I've almost done that this year, but it's the first year I've done so in a long time.

Re-read all 7 Harry Potter Books: This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile now. I keep saying I'm going to do so, but don't. It's time to stick to this one! I might just listen to the audiobooks, but that still counts.

Read my Kindle Books: This is a problem for me, I have a tendency to forget they are there and I have some amazing books on Kindle. It's like out of sight out of mind. I really want to get some of these books finished and they also count as being books I own. LOL!

Create and Use Blog/Social Media editorial Calendar: I like the one I use now, I just need to use it more often.

Write 20 Blog Posts in One Weekend: This is pretty self explainatory.  I've never done this before, I think the most I've ever done is like 10, but it would be nice to be ahead that many posts. To have a stash of posts that big would be amazing!

Comment on 101 Blogs: These comments need to be a mixture of blogs that I already read and a bunch of new ones. I really want to branch out and find other blogs that I've never read before.

Finish at least 3 Read-a-thons: This one shouldn't be too hard, but I have a tendency to not finish the read-a-thon. I give up way too easily! (In Progress)

Buy and read a book without checking Goodreads first I don't think this one needs an explanation, but I've only done this a handful of times. I always tend to check Goodreads first.

Post challenge updates on my blog each calendar year during it: Again pretty simple and doesn't really need an explanation, other than each year I want to update this list and show you all which ones I've completed and which ones I'm still working on.

Homeschool

Plan for our 2019-2020 Homeschool Year: I really want to be more organized and ready for next years homeschool year. I don't want to scramble for the books and workbooks. I want them ready to go when school starts.

Organize our Homeschool stuff we have now: This is something I struggle with every single day. My house isn't really big and we don't have a room for homeschool. We do what is called kitchen table school and my son uses his computer in his room for a lot of his work. So finding those little places to organize our stuff is hard.

Go to the Homeschool Convention: This convention is in April 2019 and I'm super excited about it. I don't even have to travel far, it's only 20 minutes away from me.

Start a Co-op for homeschoolers with special needs: This is something that's been on my heart for a few months. There aren't many co-ops for that and I want my son to have more friends. I think this would be a great way.

Plan out our homeschool schedule and stick to it: Planning a schedule for us is pretty hard seeing as my son doesn't really do well without one, but it still have to be very flexable because he has to have breaks and some days without a schedule at all. So this one might take me a bit.

Plan and Go on 20 field trips with homeschool: This one could tie in with the Co-op if I get that one done. But I really want to plan out 20 field trips to take my son! I really want to do some different things with him not just the normal go to the zoo. Even though we want to go back to the zoo again too.

Family

Do something new in FL this upcoming year:  Maybe I should explain this, we go to Florida every year for the summer and my kids love it. The past three years or so, we have tried something new every year and it's made it so much more exciting. I guess I should mention that my parents have a house down there so that's why we get to go every year. I want to keep this up and try something new every year. I might make a post on this goal!

Take my kids to the space center in Flordia: This one kind of ties in with the goal above.

Take a Trip on a Train: This one I really want to do with my mom. It's something she's always wanted to do as well. It should be fun!

Paint rocks and leave them randomly (FB group) : This is something I really want to do with my kids. We look at the rocks on the FB group every day, but haven't gotten the chance to paint any. That needs to change soon!

Go to the zoo: We love the zoo and love going as a family. The next goal also goes along with this one. We want to go more often!

Get a Yearly pass to the Zoo: Like I said above we love going to the zoo and this would help with field trips for homeschool as well.

Take my kids to the Theater to see a musical I think both of my kids would enjoy this and I know I would. Musicals are some of my favorite things. I've been to so many of them, it's time to share that with my kiddos.

Purchase Christmas PJ's for my family: This is something I always say I'm going to do but never do. It's time to change that right away!

Take my kids camping: Another thing my kids will love! I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, but it's hard when you're a single mom, but I'm going to make this happen!

Go to a pumpkin patch with my kids: We've done this once before and I really want to do this again. We had to much fun the last time!  Plus, I want to do this before they both get too old to do so.

Get a live Christmas Tree: This is something I've always wanted to do. So I knew I had to add this one to my list. Don't think this will happen this year, but hopefully next year!

Take some children's books to Children's hospital and donate them: This is something that's been on my mind lately. I want to donate some books to Children's hospital and maybe write some letters to some kids with my kids.

Get family pictures taken and my son's School pics: It's been a few years since we've done the whole family picture thing and I really want some updated pictures of my kids and myself. Going to have to look for a photographer in the area.

Home

Organize my Kitchen: This is something that's long overdue!  I like the way it's set up, but I want it to be better.

Organize my Bathroom: Another item I've been wanting to knock off my list. Though it's something I keep putting off. I should have probaby just put organize my whole house. LOL

Organize my Bedroon: Another thing I've been putting off, I really need to get to work on my house. Seeing this list makes me realize that! Honestly it's not that bad I just want it to be better.

Paint my kitchen: My list is a little basic for the first round, but it's things I've been really wanting to mark off my list.  I already have the paint and everything.

Re-do both of my kids rooms: Both of my kids are getting older and need updates to their rooms.

Start Flylady over again and stick with it: I've tried FlyLady a few times and loved it. It really works, but I've fallen off the wagon this time and I really want to get back into it. My life sort of got in the way of the system and I need to get back to it.

Save enough money to buy a new TV for the livingroom: I want a larger TV for my living room. One I can mount on the wall.

Work on my Back deck: My back deck really needs to be redone, so that's the goal, it's going to take a little while but I really want to get this one done.

Decorate my livingroom: I have too many bare walls. I want to finally get everything up on the walls the way I want them and be happy with the way it all looks.

Decorate my Kitchen: I need to paint before I can do this one, but again I already have the paint so there is no excuse why this one can't get done soon!

Finish the kitchen wall : This goal needs to happen before the paint of course, but it's all lumped into the catagory of fixing up my kitchen.

Hardwood flooring througout the bedrooms: This one is already in progress! We are starting my son's room this weekend. YAY!  This will make my house so much easier to clean and I won't have to worry about the carpets anymore.

Clean out my shed: This is actually an outside job, but hey it counts in this catagory. I've been putting off this job for a long time! Like over 6 years. I think it's time to tackle this one, but it will have to wait till Spring. As soon as it warms back up a bit I will be on this one!

Stain front porch: Another thing I've been wanting to do and say I'm going to but haven't yet. I think the first step is to learn how to stain the porch LOL.

Decorate front porch for Christmas: I've never gotten to actually do this and I would love to do so.

Build a pretty and functional laundry area: I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Right now I just have two shelves and they arne't very functional at all. They are more annoying than functional. It needs a change!

Clean out/organize my closet: When you see this post this item will already be in progress. I'm starting this one now! I'm also hoping to donate some things so this will help with another goal I have.

Organize my desk : The one item that I might complete first! Going to be work on this one the night before this post will go live.  It's a crazy mess and I want to put some organization into it and hopefully it will stay organized.

Entertainment and Trips

Watch 26 movies I've never seen starting with each letter of the alphabet: I saw this one on another list and thought this one would be fun. (If you have any suggestions please let me know.)

Get my passport : This has been on my bucket list for a long time. I think it's time to get this done.

Take a vacation to somewhere new: I want to see new things, new places and new states. So this is a way to do so. Set a goal and actually do it.

Plan at least 3 Girls Night outtings: I haven't went out with a group of friends in a long time. I've wanted to, but always put it off. It's time to meet some new people make some new friends and have some fun!

Private Goal 2019 and 2020: I've saved two items on my list for private goals. Goals that I don't want to set just yet. I'm waiting till those years to do so.

Re-watch every episode of Grey's Anatomy: This goal is already in progress! I love this show, but have never watched all of the episodes. I never kept up with them. So got to love Netflix for this one!

Watch 25 Holiday movies: I love holiday movies, and this one I'm already working on as well.

Watch all the seasons of a show I've never seen : I'm not sure which show I'll pick for this one just yet, but I like this goal!

Try 5 new restaurants: This is something I'm excited about. I like trying new places to eat.  These have to be new restaurants to me. One's I've never tried before.

Learn a new language: I want to learn Italian. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time.

Go to a country concert:  I haven't been to a concert in years. Do I need to say more?

Go on at least 3 dates: I don't really put myself out there, but that needs to change. So this is a goal I really want to work on.

Visit at least two places where they filmed my favorite shows or movies: Another thing on my bucket list that I want to actually do. I want to go to where they film The Walking Dead and where they filmed Twilight.

Watch 5 TV series I've been meaning to watch: I'm not sure which ones I'm going to watch but I have a huge list to choose from.  These will more than likely be on my To Watch list on Netflix.

Ask 15 friends to suggest one book and movie: read and watch them all: I found this goal on another person's list and thought this would be a fun one to add as well. I always love recommendation posts so this should be fun! I think I might do a seprate blog post on this one as well.

Travel to a state I haven’t visited before: This goes with another goal I have above.

Go to a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives restaurant : Another item off of my Bucket List. I watch this show with my son and we love it. I think it would be a blast to go to one of the restaurants.

Do something out of my comfort zone each year: I'm not sure what this will be, but I'm sure it will be fun. Hopefully!

To Learn/Cooking

Purchase a Pioneer Woman Cookbook: This goal goes along with the next one on my list.

Cook 25 recipes out of the Pioneer Woman Cookbook: I've always wanted to make a few of her recipes. I love to cook and thought this one would be fun to complete.

Learn how to edit videos for Youtube and  Start making videos for Youtube : This is two goals that I thought I would just put together to make it easier.

Figure out a skincare routine: This isn't as easy as it looks. I've tried several and they always break out my face. So I need to find the right one for me.

Come up with a meal planning strategy: This one might belong in the personal section, but I figued since I have to figure it all out and see what works for me it worked under the to learn. I love mal planning but tend to just go with the flow.  Though I hate that I'm that way and really want to have a plan.

Plan out some freezer meals : This one really goes with the one above.

Make at least 10 recipes that I've pinned on Pinterest: I have a bad habit of doing this, putting things on my Pinterest and never trying them especially when it comes to recipes. I think it's time to change that.

Take cooking lessons : I have a master class all picked out, I just never make the leap of signing up.

Learn something from YouTube : I want to learn something new from Youtube.

Personal

Donate at least 25 items every year: I jused to donatea lot of things, but haven't in the past couple of months. Need to get back to that

Get down to my goal weight: Something else I've been trying to do, but haven't reached the goal yet. I think a lot of people say this is a goal, but never try. I really am trying!

Use my Bullet journal every single day for three months: I am a Bullet Journal planner and love it. But need to be more consistant with it.

Finish my book, Get my book edited professionally, Publish my book: This is three of my goals and I really want to start working on these right now. It's something I've wanted to finish for the past two years. I wrote the first draft for my book during NaNoWriMo and it's been in the back of my mind since.

Clean out my email inbox(s): This one is alreayd in progress and should be complete very soon.

Stop breaking promises to myself: I read the book Girl, Wash your face a few weeks ago and this one really stuck out to me. I have a tendency to say alright I'll do that tomorrow. It's time to change that!

Upgrade my phone: My screen is cracked and honestly I probably need a new phone tomorrow, but before this is over I want to ugrade my phone.

Fill my gratitude journal: I add a Gratitude journal page to my bullet journal each month and tend to forget to fill it out. So my goal is to start making sure that's filled out each month.

Post on Instagram more : I tend to forget about Instagram and it's my favorite social media. I really want to post more pictures of the things we do daily.

Walk 3,003 miles: This one shouldn't be too hard since I walk about 3 miles to 5 miles a day, but we shall see.

Identify and simplify 10 things that stress me out: Now this is a goal that I think everyone should have. Stress sucks and I'm trying to cut out as much of mine as I can.

Decide what to do with car and do it: I don't really use my car right now and it's broke down just sitting in my driveway. Need to figure out what I'm going to do with it. (I should probably add that I take my mom where ever she needs to go so I just drive her car. )

Get a facial: This is something I haven't done in a long time! It also goes aloneg with another goal of taking care of myself.

Make more time for myself at least twice a month: This goal is pretty self explainatory, I just want to make more time for me. Go out and get a facial, get my nails done, spend time just chilling, etc. I think as a mom we all need to learn to just make time for us. We take care of everyone else but not us.

Other

Post challenge updates on my blog each calendar year during it: This is something I would like to track here on the blog. So this makes that possible. I'm hoping to have pictures to go along with it and that's the next goal.

Take pictures of each of these goals as they are completed

So there you have it. All of my 101 goals for 1001 days. That's a lot, but I've been told that the time goes fast. So I better gets started!

Have you ever participated in this challenge? If so, do you have any suggestions.  If you would like to see my progress throughout this challenge you can do so HERE!  I also plan to post my progress on Instagram, so make sure you're following me there as well.
