A series of mistakes and bad choices have brought their lives to where they are. Can a chance meeting filled with introspection, one lonely night in a smoke-filled corner bar, help them accept the mistakes from their pasts and move toward the future together?
Smoky Rooms is the second story in Life is More Than Candy Hearts. This great story is written by a wonderful author by the name of Laura Braley. Her great characters pull you in with their back stories, each of them are filled with hurt, pain, and mistakes.
I enjoyed reading about these characters and rooting for it all to work out. The only thing I didn't like about this short story is that its way to short, I needed to see their love grow. This story mainly happens over a few months, but they only talk one night and fall in love. I would have really enjoyed seeing their love grow and see what happened after that one night in the bar. It just seemed a bit rushed, but that's because it is a short story. Other than that I really enjoyed reading this story!
Great story for anyone who has struggled to overcome their past.
