It's time to ask this amazing author some questions about writing and her books. Below you will find my questions for her and her live Ali Talks Live you can listen to as well! Enjoy!!!
Can you tell us something interesting about your writing process?
Probably the most interesting thing about my writing process is that I don’t really have one. I get a story idea, ponder it for a while until I have a direction, and then I start typing.
What part of the writing process is the easiest/hardest for you?
Editing. Then again, I’ve yet to meet a writer who likes the editing process. Seeing all that red and pink and blue on the screen makes me cringe.
Who is your favorite character (that you’ve written)?
That’s like asking a mother to pick which one of her children she likes best. I just can’t do it.
Is there anything you’re working on now?
Right now, I’m about to start working with my editor on the next book in my Daniels Brother’s Series, Red Zone, and I’m writing Book 3 in my Finding Anna Series.
Where did the idea for your book come from?
At the time, I was reading some online stories about Dominance and submission, and then I saw the news coverage of Jaycee Dugard. I wondered what would happen if I mixed the two together.
Are any of the characters inspired by someone in real life?
No. Everyone is completely fictional.
Do you follow a writing schedule, or just write whenever you get the chance?
Right now I’m on a fairly tight deadline, so on the days I get to write, my goal is 2,000 words a day.
Do you listen to music while you write, or do you prefer quiet?
Depends on my mood, but normally, I prefer quiet. When things aren’t flowing, I’ll sometimes turn on some music, however.
Describe your book in a tweet (140 characters or less).
A young woman broken, and a man willing to do whatever it takes to make her whole again.
What was last book you bought?
Long-Distance Lovers by Karen Stivali
If you could be any kind of creature (other than human), which would you pick and why?
A vampire. Don’t know why, but vampire lore has always fascinated me.
Do you remember the first book that kept you up all night reading? What was it?
No. I don’t remember the book. I used to do that a lot as a teenager in the summer though, and I guarantee it was a romance.
Does writing come naturally to you, or did you have to work harder in order to get that story in your head down on paper?
I wouldn’t say it was hard initially, but writing for me has definitely gotten easier the more I’ve written.
