So as you know Book Vs. Movie is a type of post I do here on Ali's Bookshelf where we compare the book to the movie. Today is going to be a bit different. Today I just want to talk about the movie, because I'm going to be doing a book review for If I Stay later next week. Then I plan on doing another book vs movie post for you.
This past weekend I took my mom to see the movie, yes before you ask I did warn her that it was going to be sad. But anyway, we sat there and waited for it to begin, I was a bit worried that the movie wouldn't do the book justice. Yep I'm one of those that always worry about it.
Once the movie started though, I was so engrossed in the movie that I didn't even think to compare the book to the movie. I was sucked right into the storyline and the characters themselves. It was great seeing them come to life on the big screen. Yes, I cried, laughed, and even got mad, but all in all the movie was fantastic.
I really want to go see it again, to see Mia have her heart broken and to see her family memories. I absolutely loved this movie, even if I can't stand the ending, but then again there is another book and hopefully there will be another movie.
I loved the casting as well, Chloe Grace Moretz was perfect as Mia as was Jamie Blackley for Adam. The chemistry between these two great actors fit the story perfectly. The next thing I want to talk about was the scenery and sets. There is one throughout the whole movie that is my absolutely favorite and that would have to be the snowy mountain scene. Yes it's a sad scene but it's so beautifully done in the movie. I don't want to give anything away, so the last thing I'm going to say is, if you haven't seen or read If I Stay it's a must.
So, there is the start of the book vs. movie for If I Stay, stay around for part 2 next week. If you have seen If I Stay and would like to chat about it, leave me a comment below. What did you think of the movie?
