"Rise of the Winkies" pt. 1 (of 6). Dream Team creators Ethan Tarshish (Writer) and Kelly Brown (Artist/Producer) bring readers the explosive #1 issue of this all-new Oz series. This issue marks a return of all your favorites and the beginning of a brand-new era for the world of Oz."
I've been trying to read some different types of books and genres lately, so I was really excited to try Woe is Oz by Ethan Tarshish, I loved Wizard of Oz so again it added to the excitement for this. But I was totally disappointed as soon as I started reading.
The plot of Woe is Oz is totally jumbled and I had no idea what it was that I was reading, I wanted to love the story and the characters that I already loved, but ended up hating every bit of it. I did like the art work though, that I really did enjoy. It the whole thing was just art and not story, then I would love it, but it wasn't.
The characters were unbelievable and I couldn't connect with any of them. I hate giving reviews like this, but to me this one was just not for me. I can't recommend this one to my readers or anyone for that matter. I hope that the author got it together in the other issues of this comic, but I wont be reading them.
With all that was said above, I'm pretty sure you all know what I'm about to say, but I still have to say it. I'm giving Woe is Oz an Ali's Bookshelf...
