September To Be Read List

It's the day before September starts and I figured it was time to show all of you what I'll be reading for the next few weeks.

Books I've Chosen to Read: (These are to be read after Review books)

Not sure I will get through each of these, but I'm going to try.  Going to start off with Three of course, this way I will have all three of Kristen Simmons Article 5 series finished.  But after that which one of these should I read??

Books to Read for Blog Tours and Reviews:

The Boyfriend List by Renee Novelle
The Perfect Boyfriend by Renee Novelle

The tour is for The Perfect Boyfriend, but I need to read the first one first, so I'll be reading and reviewing both of these.

Escapement by Ciara Knight
Pendulum by Ciara Knight
Balance by Ciara Knight

So there you have it, my TBR list for September.  It's rather long, but I know I can get through most of them.

August Wrap Up

I can't believe it's the last day of August already, I feel like August just started.  But anyway, I want to talk about how my month has gone on the blog and possibly highlight some of the great posts from this month for you.  So here we go.

I will say that I enjoyed August, it got me back into blogging regularly here and I finally got out of my reading funk.  So that's a bit YAY! Also got a chance to see some amazing authors again and that was a blast.

But most of all it's been a great month for me, kids went back to school and I actually also got some writing done which made me really happy.  So all in all it's been a great month.

Books Read In August

Like I said above I actually got a great list of books read and mostly that has to do with Bout of Books Read-a-Thon, I actually got almost my whole to be read list for the read-a-thon finished that week.  I was one away from reaching my goal and that never happens.

Article 5 by Kristen Simmons (Read-a-Thon)
Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons (Read-a-Thon)
The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke (Read-a-Thon)
The Pirates Wish by Cassandra Rose Clarke (Read-a-Thon)
Legend by Marie Lu
Spy6teen by Lisa Moore
Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover
While You Were Away by Jessica Holbrook
Fathom by Talent Caldwell
Neozoic by Troy Peteri
Woe is Oz by Ethan Tarshish
To This Day: For the Bullied and Beautiful by Shane Koyczan

That is rather long list, some of them are graphic novels or comic books, so it's not really that long.  But I think I did really good coming out of a book funk.

Posts from August that I loved

So there you have it, my August in Review.  I hope you all had a great month and can't wait to share next month with all of you!

She's horribly shy and has always buried herself in the fan fiction she writes, where she always knows exactly what to say and can write a romance far more intense than anything she's experienced in real life. Without Wren Cath is completely on her own and totally outside her comfort zone. She's got a surly room-mate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words ...And she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone. Now Cath has to decide whether she's ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she's realizing that there's more to learn about love than she ever thought possible ...

But doing so is easier said than done when sexy Jonah Walker saunters back into her life. Quinn shattered Jonah’s heart once, so getting involved with her isn’t something he’s sure he’s ready to do again. He became someone he didn’t recognize when he left home. He’s spent the last years burying his pain by keeping everyone in his life at arm’s length. Now he needs to get to know his family again, and finally become who he wants to be. Teaser Tuesday #45

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.

My palms grew damp. I wasn't chilled at all anymore; the pressure of their stares warmed me considerably. "Three what?" asked one of the survivors. This struck me as odd; the rumors we'd heard of Three were that they were based at the safe house, yet none of the survivors apart from Jesse seemed to have any clue what I was talking about.

I'm loving this series so much.  If you haven't read it, I totally recommend it.  So what are you reading right now and care to give me a tease?

It's Monday...What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Book Journey!

So now that Bout of Books is over, I still have another book that I didn't get to finish last week.  Also I'm still reading the book for this months book club discussion.  So those are mainly the two books I'll be reading this week.

Book Club

Legend by Marie Lu

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Book to Finish A Series (the one I didn't finish during Bout of Books)

Three by Kristen Simmons

Ember Miller and Chase Jennings are ready to stop running. After weeks spent in hiding as two of the Bureau of Reformation’s most wanted criminals, they have finally arrived at the safe house, where they hope to live a safe and quiet existence.

And all that’s left is smoking ruins.

Devastated by the demolition of their last hope, Ember and Chase follow the only thing left to them—tracks leading away from the wreckage. The only sign that there may have been survivors.

With their high profile, they know they can’t stay out in the open for long. They take shelter in the wilderness and amidst the ruins of abandoned cities as they follow the tracks down the coast, eventually finding refugees from the destroyed safe house. Among them is someone from Chase’s past—someone he never thought he’d see again.

Banding together, they search for a place to hide, aiming for a settlement a few of them have heard about…a settlement that is rumored to house the nebulous organization known as Three. The very group that has provided Ember with a tiny ray of hope ever since she was first forced on the run.

Three is responsible for the huge network of underground safe houses and resistance groups across the country. And they may offer Ember her only chance at telling the world her story.

At fighting back.

So there you have it, what are you reading this week?
